Who Can Attend the Beth Shalom Saturday School?

The “Beth Shalom” Saturday School will accept children whose parents agree to follow the following rules and guidelines:

Rules for Parents

  • Parents must sign the contract and give it to the Director of the Saturday School.
  • The Saturday School is open every Saturday from 10 AM to 1:30 PM at 634 Avenue Y. Our service begins at 10:30. There are three age groups: 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
  • Parents must bring their child directly to the teacher and sign in the attendance notebook.
  • Please make sure your child has the following: A Bible, a folder, a pen or pencil, a notebook (for older children), lunch and clothing warm enough to be able to play outside.
  • When you pick up your child, you must let the teacher know.
  • If you cannot pick your child up on time, please ask another parent to do it and let the teacher know in advance.
  • Please follow the parent volunteer schedule.

    Rules for Students


    The student should:

  • Come on time
  • To do home work
  • To raise a hand before answering teacher’s questions


    The student should not:

  • Bring games, toys and gum
  • Talk while the teacher is talking

    If a student does not react to the teacher’s comments, then the teacher’s assistant can take the student outside for discussion and prayer.

    If the student apologizes, he/she can return to the classroom.

    If the child refuses to apologize, he/she must remain with the assistant until the end of the service when the parents can be notified.

    If a child is involved in fighting, aggressive behavior or trying to leave the building, the parents will be called immediately and the child will not be allowed to return to Saturday School for a week.

    If the parents refuse to pick the child up immediately, the child will be expelled from Saturday School for three weeks.
