Core Values

You cannot walk into a bank without being greeted by an armed security guard or two. These guys have been hired for two reasons. One, there is something valuable in the bank. Two, there are people committed to stealing that money. The guard's job is to make sure the money is not stolen. In the same way, Paul admonished Timothy to guard the good deposit...with the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:13,14).

We call the good deposit God has invested in our ministry "core values." Although all biblical truth is important, our core values define who we are as a movement of churches and ministries. These core values must be guarded or they will be stolen.

The following five core values are the building blocks of Beth Shalom Ministries. Whether we are planting a new church or organizing a music team, these core values describe how we build.

Lordship
Because Jesus is "King of kings and Lord of lords" we believe that whole-hearted submission to God's will and his word is the starting point of the Christian faith and the foundation of all spiritual growth.

Core Values

Evangelism
Because God's heart is to reach the lost, we seek to build churches primarily through evangelism not transfer, through birth not adoption.

Core Values

Discipleship
Because we are called to make disciples, our primary focus is on ministering to people not conducting meetings, administrating programs or building buildings.

Core Values

Leadership
Because we are called to raise up spiritual leaders, we prioritize leadership training and deliberately create opportunities for young potential leaders to develop their gifts.

Core Values

Family
Because the family is the foundation and validation of all ministry, we refuse to sacrifice our marriages and our children on the altars of temporal success. And, because we believe God has called us to be a spiritual family, we reject the idea of disposable relationships and choose to walk in lifelong covenant, love, respect and unity.
